Why it matters:

The new formula keeps what works — 600mg sodium, 100mg potassium, 30mg magnesium — and removes anything that doesn’t. There’s no natural flavor, no hidden sweetener blends, and fewer total ingredients. That means fewer questions for you — and fewer chances for your body to react.

We heard from many in our community that even “natural” flavorings can cause reactions — or just raise red flags when reading a label. Though compliant and widely used, natural flavors don’t always sit right with people managing dysautonomia, MCAS, or GI issues.

Yes — Enact contains no genetically modified ingredients.

We follow all federal standards for GMO disclosure, and none of our ingredients contain detectable genetic material from bioengineered sources. That means Enact meets the definition of non-GMO under USDA guidelines.

We haven’t pursued third-party certification (like the Non-GMO Project) at this time — not because we use GMOs, but because we’ve prioritized simplifying our ingredient list and keeping the product accessible. If certification becomes important to our community, it’s something we’re open to exploring.

While Enact Hydration is Organic Compliant, meaning it meets organic standards, it's not currently certified organic. We use high-quality, natural ingredients that align closely with organic principles.

FSMA stands for Food Safety Modernization Act. Being FSMA Compliant means we adhere to the FDA's standards for ensuring the safety of food products, focusing on preventing contamination rather than responding to it.

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. This certification means we have a systematic preventive approach to food safety, identifying and controlling potential hazards in the production process

Enact Hydration was created by Dr. Christopher Kelly, MD, MS, a cardiologist and co-founder of the company. Dr. Kelly is the chairman of cardiology at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh and the board president at the American Heart Association for the Triangle region.

Enact Hydration was developed to provide adequate electrolyte support without excessive calories or sweetness. It was inspired by Dr. Kelly's work with patients struggling with conditions like POTS.

While Enact Hydration itself hasn't undergone clinical trials, its formulation is based on scientific understanding of electrolyte needs, particularly for individuals with conditions like POTS. Dr. Kelly has published original work in leading medical journals and brings his expertise to the product's development.
